BaconAstro Out & About in Durham, NC | Summer 2026 Update
I don't know about you, but my summer plans have been turned upside down and we're only a few days into the season. Thankfully, I'm not living in Hawkins, ID but it sure feels like I'm living in an alternative universe. Fascism and the AI takeover is in full bloom, but then, so are my blueberries. Baby deer are walking by my window, but ICE is still out there, too.
But how do you keep your head on straight when the whole world feels like a circus? For me, the answer has always been making a mess and laughing. Even when I worked in social media and digital marketing, I was always thinking of how to make silly content away from the computer with the goal of making people LOL. So instead of building "meat mountain" for a sandwich brand, I'm making gummy worm kits and fuzzy ring pops.
I'd love the hear what you're doing to stay sane, what helps you beat the heat of authoritarianism, and what keeps you making good trouble against whatever super villain you're currently battling ❤️🔥✊
